22nd Annual NASC
Sportsman-Legislator Summit
Senator Jon Bumstead
Michigan State Senate

Senator Jon Bumstead was reelected to the Michigan Senate in 2022 to represent the newly drawn 32nd District, having served as a state legislator since 2010.
Sen. Bumstead is an avid sportsman, and much of his focus throughout his legislative career has been on the outdoors. During the current Legislature, Sen. Bumstead has sponsored and supported legislation that would allow for hunter’s education in schools, alter the current hunting and fishing fee structure to adequately fund Michigan’s conservation and outdoor recreational efforts, and that would have the financial ability to maintain dams be considered when a hydroelectric dam is sold. These pieces of legislation are just a few examples of Sen. Bumstead’s efforts to protect the outdoors and support Michigan’s legacy as sportsmen’s paradise.
Sen. Bumstead is a life member of the National Rifle Association and Michigan United Conservation Corps and is the former president and life member of the Safari Club International’s Michigan chapter. Additionally, he is Co-Chair of the Michigan Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus.
