Arkansas Farm Bureau
Mike Freeze received his B.S. from Arkansas Tech University in Fisheries and Wildlife Management in 1975 and his M.S. in Biology from Murray State University in 1977. Mr. Freeze is co-owner of Keo Fish Farm, Inc., the largest hybrid striped bass hatchery in the world and one of the largest triploid grass carp producers in the United States. He is married to Betty Louise Blaylock and they have two daughters: Dr. Rachael Freeze-Ramsey (Matt Ramsey) and Kelly Freeze-Summerside (Seth Summerside).
Mr. Freeze currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Aquaculture Association, Catfish Farmers of Arkansas, and Arkansas Farm Bureau. He is the Vice-President of Arkansas Farm Bureau and serves as the Chairman of the American Farm Bureau Environmental Regulations Issue Committee. Mr. Freeze previously served as a member and Chairman of the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, a member and Vice-Chairman of the Arkansas Pollution Control & Ecology Commission, a member and Vice-Chairman of the Arkansas Development and Finance Authority, a member of the Arkansas FSA State Committee, a member of Grand Prairie CASA’s Board of Directors and on numerous USDA National Advisory Boards.
Mr. Freeze has over thirty years of experience as a private aquaculture producer and is an American Fisheries Society’ Certified Fisheries Scientist. Mr. Freeze’s family was named Lonoke County Farm Family of the year in 2004 and he has received numerous individual aquaculture related awards as well as having a state wildlife management area and a community fishing pond named after him.
