Mike Cox

Mike Cox was born and raised in South Dakota but moved out west to Nevada for his love of mountains. Mike earned his B.S. from South Dakota State University in Wildlife and Fisheries Management and his M.S. from Iowa State University in Wildlife Ecology. Since 2015, Mike has served as the Statewide Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goat Staff Biologist and Program Coordinator for Nevada Department of Wildlife. Prior to that, he also served as the Statewide Big Game Staff Biologist for all big game species from 1999 – 2014, and as the Regional Game Division Supervisor from 1993 – 1999. Until recently, Mike also served for six years at the Chair of the West Side Wild Sheep Working Group at the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. In his free time, Mike loves to backpack hunt and backcountry ski.
