Matt Cleland

Matt graduated from Washington State University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in wildlife management. He then became an employee of the USDA Wildlife Services program in November of 2000 where he has spent the last 24 years working in 6 different states, which include: Washington, California, Oregon, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Louisiana. Matt has experience dealing with Wildlife Damage Management on airports, in urban settings, agriculture protection, and human safety issues and spent 4 years as one of the main managers of the Eastern Region Aviation program, which predominantly dealt with feral swine control in the Eastern United States. In 2019, Matt became the state director of the LA Wildlife Services program, which has 26 employees across the state dealing in wildlife damage management. Half of Matt’s employees and the majority of his time is dealt with managing feral swine throughout the state.
