Katie Martin

Katie is the statewide deer, bear, and turkey biologist for the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. In this role she co-leads these three program areas with a focus on human-wildlife conflict, wildlife disease, and population monitoring. Prior to this, Katie served as a district wildlife biologist for DWR for 8 years in the Central Piedmont region. Before coming to DWR, Katie was an agricultural extension agent and a private lands quail habitat biologist. Katie received both her B.S. (Wildlife Science) and M.S. (Forestry) from Virginia Tech.
