Gordon Batcheller

Gordon Batcheller is the Executive Secretary for the Northeast Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies, and Immediate Past President of The Wildlife Society. Before retiring from government service in 2015 following a 35-year career, he was the Chief Wildlife Biologist for the State of New York. In that position, he promoted changes in New York laws to lower the legal age of hunting, simplified hunting and trapping regulations, and authored legislation to benefit New York's sportsmen's interests. A graduate of the University of Maine, and Oklahoma State University, he is a Certified Wildlife Biologist. He is an avid deer and turkey hunter, angler, and firearms enthusiast. Gordon and his wife Mary have 3 grown children, and 9 grandchildren. They live in Upstate New York.
