Darren L. LaSorte

Darren began working with NSSF in 2019 after spending seven years in the private sector away from the lobbying profession where he had dedicated the previous two decades of his career. At NSSF, he oversees all government relations matters affecting the firearm industry in the south-central region of the country. His states of responsibility are New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Recent successful legislative efforts include measures preventing the government-mandated closure of firearm-related businesses during declared emergencies and disasters, and discouraging corporate discrimination against the one industry necessary for citizens to exercise their constitutionally enshrined rights. These two legislative efforts are ongoing priorities for the state government relations team at NSSF.

Darren’s previous government relations work included serving as the Legislative Officer for the Arizona Supreme Court and lobbying with the National Rifle Association for 13 years. He has served on the board of directors for the American Suppressor Association and Dallas Safari Club.
