Darren L. LaSorte

Darren began working with NSSF in October 2019 after spending seven years in the private sector away from the lobbying profession where he had dedicated the previous two decades of his career. At NSSF, he oversees all government relations matters affecting the firearm industry in the south-central region of the country. His states of responsibility are Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Recent successful legislative efforts include measures preventing the government-mandated closure of firearm-related businesses during declared emergencies and disasters, and protecting firearm businesses from discriminatory corporate practices intended to deny essential services to the one industry necessary for citizens to exercise their constitutionally enshrined rights. These two legislative efforts are ongoing priorities for the state government relations team at NSSF.

Darren’s previous government relations work included serving as the Legislative Officer for the Arizona Supreme Court, and State Lobbyist and Manager of Hunting Policy during his 13 years at NRA-ILA. He has previously served on the board of directors for the American Suppressor Association and Dallas Safari Club.

When not working, Darren spends his time hunting in the U.S. and other countries, and shooting long range bolt-actions and defensive handguns and rifles at ranges near his home in Dallas, Texas.
