Amanda Wuestefeld
Indiana Department of Natural Resources

Amanda Wuestefeld became the Director of the Division of Fish & Wildlife with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources in August of 2019. Throughout her 32 year career, she has served in a variety of roles. She co-led the second edition of Indiana’s State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP), which created a strategic vision and framework for all conservation partners to develop and coordinate actions to safeguard all fish and wildlife species. Amanda has dedicated her life to conservation both personally and professionally. As the Hoosier Outdoor Heritage Coordinator, she led the launch of the Division’s first hunting recruitment program to introduce young adults to the activity. Prior to that she served as the Go FishIN Coordinator where she was responsible for teaching thousands of participants the sport of fishing and oversaw the development and opening of the 2005 Fishin’ Pond at the Indiana State Fair. Amanda holds a B.S. in Wildlife Science from Purdue University. When she is not working, she can often be found sharing her passion for conservation with others by mentoring young outdoor enthusiasts, on a lake with a fishing pole, or in the woods with her family and three squirrel dogs.
